Goya fruit consists of a green vegetable that belongs to Momardica Charantia, a plant originating from East Asia, and generally has a bitter taste. It is also known as "amwa" or "bitter gourd". Goya fruit is a tropical fruit that has great importance in Asian cuisine. It has a long and hairy structure, is green in color and is generally 10 to 20 cm long. Its shell is quite thick and inside there is a bright red or orange flesh. This flesh is consumed in the fresh form of the plant. In Asian cuisines, goya fruit is often added to various dishes, soups and salads. It can also be consumed fresh, dried, powdered or used as tea.
